Air Conditioning
Press the On/Off button and set thermostat to your desired temperature. Please ensure that all doors and windows are closed before operating. In some units, the A/C will turn off automatically if doors or windows are left open.

Clock Radio
These are also located on the nightstand next to each bed.

Setting and Operating the Alarm:

1. Press the “6 Alarm Set” button. The wake time on the display will flash.
2. Press the “3 Reverse/Tuning” or “5 Forward/Tuning” buttons to set the alarm time.
3. For buzzer alarm, press the “4 Enter” button to set the wake-up time. The unit will beep twice and the “Buzzer Alarm ON” indicator will appear..
4. For a radio wake up, press one of the “J Radio Preset” buttons then the “4 Enter” button to set the wake-up time. The unit will beep twice and the “Radio Alarm ON” Indicator will appear.
5. When the alarm sounds, press the “9 Snooze/Dimmer” bar for a 9-minute snooze time, or press the “7 Alarm On/Off” button to shut off the alarm.

Coffee Machine

1. Lift the lid for filter basket and water reservoir access.
2. Insert a MR. COFFEE® 4-Cup paper or permanent filter into the removable filter basket.
3. Add desired amount of coffee.
4. Fill the decanter with cold water to the desired capacity as marked on the side of the decanter (1 cup = 5 oz.). To brew 4 cups of coffee, fill the decanter to the 4-cup line.
5. Pour the water into the water reservoir.
6. Plug the cord into the electrical outlet and turn your coffeemaker switch to the “ON” position. NOTE: The warming plate will keep your coffee piping hot until you turn your coffeemaker off.
7. After contents have cooled, carefully remove the filter basket and discard the used grounds and paper filter or rinse clean the permanent filter. Rinse the removable filter basket and replace.
8. Be sure to turn your coffeemaker off when the decanter is empty. Please unplug the power cord when not in use.

Hairdryer

1. To start the dryer; press “ON” button on the wall mount unit.
2. Slide the control switch to: low position for styling hair; High position for fastest drying.

Microwave

1. Press “Power” level until the desired power level appears in the display window.
2. Set cooking time using number pads.
3. Press the “Start” button to begin cooking. The time in the window will count down.

Iron
There is an ironing board and iron located in your bedroom/closet.

1. Before filling the iron with water ensure the power is turned off and the plug is removed from the power outlet. The iron can be filled with water while it is hot.
2. Insert the 3-pin plug into a 230/240 volt power outlet and switch the power to “ON”. The “Power ON” light (positioned on top of the handle) will illuminate to indicate that the iron is on and heating.
3. Add water into the water inlet, do not exceed maximum water level.
4. Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting. The boost light will illuminate to indicate that the iron is heating to the selected temperature. When the boost light goes out the iron is at the selected temperature and is ready to iron.

Pools
Seven swimming pools include an adult pool and beachfront pool at each resort, a pool and kiddie wading pool next to KONK and a covered pool at TradeWinds Island Grand. A sauna is located off next to the covered pool.

Beach Cabanas
Check in with the beach attendant for assignment. One per bedroom, charge included in the Resort Amenity Fee, subject to availability.

Beach Games
Visit the Cabana Hut on the beach for sand pails and equipment for cornhole, ladder ball and bocce ball.

Chess
A life-size chess set is located in Garden Courtyard at TradeWinds Island Grand.

Floating Cabanas
What would be more relaxing than sunning on a giant raft – big enough for 4 and complete with cooler – while floating gently in the gulf? Call Ext. 6020 or 6042 to reserve yours.

Golf
One call to our Concierge and you can book tee times at some of the area’s best courses, Ext. 6051.

A mini-golf course is located off the Garden Courtyard at TradeWinds Island Grand.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Tradewinds Island Resort unless they are registered as a service animal. But we do understand they are like family. Please contact Guest Services for information about pet boarding. A $300.00 Cleaning Fee will be applied if smell or evidence of pets is present in unit.*

Key Card
If you lose your key card, please notify Guest Services immediately so that your lock may be re-coded. For your safety and security, ID will be required to have a new key made. Please return your key card to the front desk upon check-out. You may also drop off your key card at the express check-out boxes conveniently located in the lobby of each building.

Onsite parking. One vehicle per unit. Additional parking unavailable. TradeWinds has increased enforcement of parking restrictions and has partnered with a towing company to tow any non-registered guest vehicle. To ensure your vehicle is properly identified as a registered guest, always clearly display the appropriate parking pass in your vehicle. Towed vehicles are the sole expense of the owner. Luggage carts are available in the Breckenridge lobby. Bellman available if you need assistance. There is no parking available for over-sized vehicles, trailers, RVs, or boats.

Florida Green Lodge
Both TradeWinds Island resorts have been awarded the Florida Green Lodging certification by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in recognition of our mission to protect the area’s natural resources, reduce waste and minimize pollution. The FDEP often cites TradeWinds Island Resort as an example of how hoteliers can not only minimize their impact on the environment, but also enhance the sustainability of their properties.

Recycling
Please leave newspapers and other recyclable items on the counter in your guest room (not in the wastebaskets) and your room attendant will be happy to recycle them. Aluminum cans may be recycled in the blue recycling containers located next to the ice machines. Please look for other recycling containers and waste trashcans on the beach and around property.

Energy Conservation
Please turn off lights, shut blinds and curtains and adjust your air conditioning when out of your room. Energy-efficient appliances are Energy Star-Rated and most meeting space and guest room lighting has been converted to compact fluorescents.   All rooms are non-smoking and have high efficiency air filters to meet high standards for indoor air quality.

Beach Environment
TradeWinds was the first St. Pete Beach property to plant native sea oats along our beach, , which helps prevent erosion. Sea oats are protected by law; please do not pick them or walk through the dune areas.   We were also the first resort in the state to retrofit all beachfront light fixtures with eco-friendly lighting, designed to help ensure that newly-hatched sea turtles don’t confuse the lights with the light of the moon, which they use to find their way to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

TradeWinds has served as local headquarters for the annual, worldwide Hands Across the Sand event.  This event promotes clean energy and the protection of our coastal economies. Thank you for picking up your empty food and beverage containers, and leaving only your footprints!

Fitness Center | M-F (9 am – 5 pm) and Sat-Sun (8 am – 5 pm)

Body Works at TradeWinds Island Grand is a full-service hair, nail and cosmetic salon and includes a variety of indulgent facials and massage therapy. Contact Body Works at Ext. 6019 in advance to make an appointment.

Services are provided by an outside company and is available 24 hours a day for your convenience. Advance reservations are required. You may either call the company directly at 727.865.0661 or contact the Concierge Services at Ext. 2522.

At Guy Harvey Outpost, self-service is available at the beachfront pool. At TradeWinds Island Grand, towels are available with your wristband that you can get at the Adventure Center. Towels must be returned during operating hours or at Guest Services before leaving the resort.

Whirlpools
Located in the Oasis Courtyard for adults at the RumFish beach resort and by the Beachfront Pool at TradeWinds Island Grand.

Please take time to familiarize yourself with the information located on the back of your guest room door, along with additional safety information about Fire and Emergency Exits.

Inside Your Villa

• Keep the dead bolt locked when inside your villa.
• Do not allow strangers into your villa. If someone’s identity seems suspicious, dial Ext. 0 and/or report them to Security and Resort Management.
• Never leave your children unattended. Familiarize them with their new surroundings and other safety procedures. Be sure they know your villa number and location.
• Make sure to lock your vehicle and take all valuable items inside with you and/or store them out of sight in your trunk. The resort is a “Park at Your Own Risk” property.

Key Cards

• Keep track of your key card(s) by keeping them with you at all times. Do not give your key card to others.
• Return your key card to the front desk at check-out, or drop it in any of our express check-out boxes conveniently located at the entrance of each building.

On and Off the Property

• Never leave your wallet, keys, purse, or other valuables unattended while at the pool.
• Ask our staff for the most direct driving directions when preparing to travel to attractions.
• If you see any activity that appears suspicious, please dial Ext. 0 and/or report it to Security and Resort Management.
• Always be aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to where you walk or park and make note of the time of day.

Fire and Emergency Exits

You will find a plan of the floor showing the closest emergency exit on the inside of the door to your room. Please take the time to read these instructions carefully. The emergency exits have clearly marked signs. The hotel is also fitted with modern smoke detection and sprinkler systems.

For your added protection, please follow these procedures in the event of a fire: 

• If possible, close the windows and doors around the fire area to keep the fire from spreading.
• Immediately report the situation by dialing ‘0’ (the Operator).
• Take your room key when exiting the room.
• Before leaving your room, test the door for heat.
• If it is cool, open carefully and look for smoke.
• If the hall is smoke-free, exit through the stairwell to the street.
• Do not use the elevator under any circumstances.
• If there is thick smoke in the hallways, close the door quickly and remain in your room.
• Stuff all door cracks and vents with wet clothes, sheets, blankets and towels.
• Fill the bathtubs with water and have wastebaskets nearby for carrying water. Phone your location to the Operator and try to stay calm while waiting for assistance.
