Coffee Maker
Before brewing coffee, make sure the thermal carafe is in position on the resting plate and the top cover is closed. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet. Fill the coffee maker with water, fill the filter with ground coffee and place it in the filter holder. Be sure the paper filter is completely open and fully inserted in the basket. It may help to fold and flatten the seams of a paper filter beforehand. Add 1 level scoop (1 tablespoon) of ground coffee per cup. Adjust the amount according to taste.

Iron
Fill the iron with water and turn the knob to the desired temperature. Use the ironing board for all ironing. Do not iron on beds, tables or floors. Please dispose of excess water when finished

Broadband Internet Access
Free high-speed Internet access is available in this room, and can be operated using the following instructions:

1. Power on your computer
2. Right click on the wireless icon in the lower right corner and choose View Available Wireless Networks
3. Select Hotel Blake network from the list and click the connect button
4. Launch your web browser; you will be re-directed to a login page

AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio with iPod Dock
To wake to your iPhone®/iPod,® your iPhone/iPod must be properly docked and off (not in play mode) or alarm will not sound.

1. Press and hold the clock icon button for 2 seconds until the display flashes.
2. Press the Hour Button until the desired alarm hour is display.
3. Press the Minute Button to set the desired alarm minute. Remember to set the correct AM or PM if you are using the 12 hour format.
4. Press the clock Button again to exit the setting mode. You should hear 2 beeps indicating the alarm is set.
5. To snooze during the alarm, press the Snooze/Dimmer Button. The alarm will be silenced for 9 minutes, then come on again
6. To turn the alarm off, press the alarm/reset button. The alarm will come again the next day at the same time.
7. If the alarm is not turned off after it sounds, it will play for approximately one hour then turn off automatically. This cycle will repeat every 24 hours unless the controls are changed.

Note: If there is no iPhone/iPod present or there is no music detected on the iPhone/iPod at alarm time, the iP21 will automatically switch to buzzer alarm. Make sure to adjust the volume level for comfortable wake up volume. When the alarm is sounding, the Alarm Icon will flash.

The Hotel reserves the right to charge late departing guests an additional 50% room charge for continued occupancy after 12:00 noon. For continued occupancy after 3:00 pm, a full night’s charge will apply. An early departure fee equal to one night’s room and tax will also be assessed for departures prior to the originally confirmed departure date. Should you need to extend your stay or require a late checkout, please contact the Front Desk by dialing 0.

Keys
For your safety and convenience, please keep your room key with you at all times during your stay. Should you lose your key please inform the front desk immediately. The door lock code will be changed and a new key will be issued to you. We recommend you do not leave your key in your room or in the door or give your key to others.

Parking
Valet service is available for an additional charge per night at the hotel main entrance. The hotel is not liable for any incidents involving the garage or valet parking. We suggest that you allow 25 minutes for the delivery of your car. Please note that the daily parking charge includes drop-off and pick-up, and includes in and out privileges throughout your stay without additional charges incurred

Pet Policy
Unfortunately, we do not accept pets at the Hotel Blake. Please let us know if we can assist in finding alternative accommodations in the local area for your fury friends.

Events Center
Hotel Blake Chicago offers over 2,000 square-feet of meetings and event spaces ranging in capacity from 2 to 100 people with executive boardrooms and views of Chicago’s Loop. State-of-the-art audiovisual set-ups include plasma screens, electronic white boards and more.

Fitness Center
The Fitness Center is located on the second floor and features weight training and cardiovascular equipment. Your guestroom key will give you access 24 hours a day. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program. Should you require more extensive facilities, please contact the Concierge at Ext. 0.

High Speed Internet Access
Unlimited high-speed access is available from your own laptop; experience a high-speed Internet connection that’s many times faster and more reliable than dial-up. Fire and Emergency Exits
You will find a floor plan showing the closest emergency exit on the inside of the door to your room. Please take the time to read these instructions carefully. The building has two emergency staircases located on each guest floor landing. The emergency exits have clearly marked signs. The hotel is also fitted with modern smoke detection and sprinkler systems and an alarm that has a direct connection to the Chicago Fire Department.

For your added protection, please follow these procedures in the event of a fire:

• If possible, close the windows and doors around the fire area to keep the fire from spreading.
• Immediately report the situation by dialing ‘0’ (the Operator).
• Take your room key when exiting the room.
• Before leaving your room, test the door for heat.
• If it is cool, open carefully and look for smoke.
• If the hall is smoke-free, exit through the stairwell to the street.
• Do not use the elevator under any circumstances.
• If there is thick smoke in the hallways, close the door quickly and remain in your room.
• Stuff all door cracks and vents with wet clothes, sheets, blankets and towels.
• Fill the bathtubs with water and have wastebaskets nearby for carrying water. Phone your location to the Operator and try to stay calm while waiting for assistance.
