Air Thermostat
Press On/Off and press left or right for desired temperature. Make sure the unit is in cool position/ heat position, whichever you desire (68º F – 72º F is a cool temperature.) Do not turn A/C below 68º F as it may cause the A/C to malfunction and stop working. Do not leave any doors open as this will cause the air conditioner to malfunction.

Alarm Clock
To set the alarm, turn selector on top of Radio to Set Alarm, hold button for hour and minutes to desired time. Select the side alarm button to Radio or Buzzer.

Blender
Sit blender container in base, place liquid or soft ingredients into blender and place the lid on securely. Press the desired settings on the panel to start.

Coffee Maker
Open top of coffee maker. Place filter pack of coffee provided for 10 cups in holder and fill reservoir with water and close lid. Push for ON. To open, (unlock) the top of coffee carafe, turn lid to the right, to close (lock) the top of the coffee carafe, turn lid to the left.

Washer and Dyers
In unit washer open lid, select desired load size and cycle and pour the detergent into the washer. For the presidential washer, select desired load size and cycle and pour the detergent into the pull dispenser. For dryers in the units and presidentials select desired temperate and time.

Dishwasher
Open dishwasher; place dishes on racks, fill main detergent cup located on the side of the front door with dishwashing powder and slide closed. Close front door and turn button to desired wash. Slide the lever to start the dishwasher. Do not use liquid soap, as this will cause the dishwasher to overflow.

Fire Extinguisher
Locate the fire extinguisher (One Bedroom, Two Bedroom and Three Bedroom -underneath the kitchen sink cabinet, Presidential York-in the cleaning closet next to the living room, James and Chesapeake in the laundry room). Pull the pin and squeeze handle. Spray back and forth in a sweeping motion at the base of the fire. CALL 911 and Guest Services at extension 0.

Hair-dryer
Remove hair-dryer from the bag located in the drawer in the bathroom. Press the switch to the ON position 1 or 2. Position 1 is low, position 2 is for medium and position 3 is for high.

Guest Bath Shower
Turn on water by pulling spout and set to desired temperature. Pull the ring above the waterspout to turn the
shower on.

Ice Maker
To make ice, slide the lever to on.

Iron
Fill the iron with water and turn the knob to the desired temperature. Use the ironing board for all ironing. Do not iron on beds, tables, or floors.

Microwave
Each microwave oven has the specific instructions inside for your convenience. Please follow the instructions provided within the microwave/oven. Do not place cups of water, foil, metal or plastic inside microwave.
Please do not hesitate in contacting us at ext.0 for further instructions if needed.

Oven
Open oven door and place food inside on middle rack. (Do not place paper products or plastic inside oven.) Turn knobs to set desired temperature. Please do not leave any cooking equipment unattended at any time.

Telephone
Pick up telephone to place or receive a call. See dialing instructions on the telephone.

Television
Press the power ON the television or remote. Press the channel up or down.

Toaster
Place toast or bagel into slots. Set desired color and push down lever. Toast will automatically pop up when ready. For one slice of toast, use the side of toaster labeled “one slice.”

Fax Machine
Facsimile (FAX) service is available for your convenience. The resort fax number is 757.345.6148.

Fire Emergency
Dial 9 + 911. The resort is fully equipped with modern fire prevention devices. For your additional safety, please familiarize yourself with the fire alarm locations, exit routes and the fire safety guides. This information is posted on the back of each guest room door.

Game Room/Fitness Center
Our Game Room and Fitness Center is located on the second floor of the Club House. You must be 14 years or older or accompanied by an adult for the Game Room and 16 years or older to use the fitness equipment. The Game Room and Fitness Center are open 24 hours. Please see Guest Services to check out game equipment or receive a fitness key.

Housekeeping
Call Guest Services at Ext. 0 for special housekeeping department needs. Some services require additional fee.

Ice Machine
Located in the 300 Building on the first floor by unit 3117.

Key Card
Should you lose your key card, please notify Guest Services immediately so that your lock may be re-coded. For your safety and security, I.D. will be required to have a new key made. Please return your key card to Guest Services upon check-out.

Laundry
For your convenience, each unit and presidential has a washer and dry located inside.

Lost and Found
For articles lost or found, please contact Guest Services at Ext. 0.

Mail and Messages
Mail received at the resort may be collected by either calling or stopping by Guest Services. For telephone messages follow the instructions on your in-room telephone plate. You can drop outgoing mail at Guest Services.

Newspapers
Please check the resort lobby for your complementary daily newspaper. The number of newspapers is limited and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

Parking
A complimentary parking pass is available from the concierge for all registered resort guests. The resort cannot be responsible for items left in vehicles on the property.

Pet Policy
For the convenience of other guests and in an effort to help us provide the cleanest and most sanitary accommodations available, pets are not permitted.

Postage Stamps
Postage is available at current postal rates at Guest Services.

If a security need arises, please contact Guest Services for immediate attention. Security is on property from 10 pm-6 am.

Swimming Pool
Our outdoor pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. See Pool Rules posted at the Pool area before swimming.

Tax
Sales taxes are based on local and federal requirements.

Vending Machines
Vending machines are located on the first floor in the Club House.

Voicemail
For your convenience, we offer guest voice mail. To access your voice mailbox, follow the instructions printed on your telephone.

If you would like a wake-up call, please dial Ext. 0 to notify Guest Services.

Welcome Refreshment Center
A Welcome Refreshment Center is available in the lobby area 24 hours a day offering lemonade, coffee, and hot tea. We also provide fresh baked chocolate chip cookies from 4 pm-6 pm everyday in the lobby.

Wi-Fi
Available, free for all of our guests. To connect select Parkside with a Capital “P” and accept the terms and conditions from Cox. No password is required. Wi-Fi connection issues please call 1-877-897-2159, provide Cox Business your Property ID number and they will be happy to assit you connecting to the network. Towel exchange is available upon request. Please call Guest Services between 9 am-2 pm.

Garbage Locations
To dispose of your garbage in the 200 Building, the garbage bin is located on each floor under the stairs by the elevator. In the 300 Building, on the 1st floor by unit 3120, in the hallway on 2nd floor by unit 3215, and in the hallway on the 3rd floor by unit 3315.

Check Out Instructions
Please start the dishwasher the last day of your vacation. If you need dishwashing powder or any other items, please stop by Guest Services or dial Ext. 0 and we can have them sent to your unit.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Parkside Williamsburg Resort. But we do understand they are like family. Please contact Guest Services for information about pet boarding.

Outdoor Pool
Open seasonally. Children must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. NO lifeguard on duty—swimming is at your own risk. NO glass in the pool areas please. Pool towels are located at the pool.

Internet
Wireless Internet is available to owners and guests in your villa, the lobby and pool deck.

BBQ Grills
Cook up a meal the whole family will enjoy in our outdoor cooking area, located behind the 200 building.

Fitness Center
Enjoy a selection of cardiovascular and weight machines to keep you fit. Consult your physician prior to beginning any exercise program.

Inside Your Villa

• Keep the dead bolt locked when inside your villa.
• Do not allow strangers into your villa. If someone’s identity seems suspicious, dial Ext. 0 and/or report them to Security or Resort Manager.
• Never leave your children unattended. Familiarize them with their new surroundings and other safety procedures.
• Make sure to lock your vehicle and take all valuable items inside with you and/or store them in your trunk out of sight. The resort is a “Park at Your Own Risk” property.

Keys

• Keep track of your key(s) by keeping them with you at all times. Do not give your villa keys to others.
• Return your key to Guest Services when you check out or drop your keys in any of our express checkout boxes conveniently located in the garage entrance/exit.

On and Off the Property

• Never leave your wallet, keys or purse unattended while at the pool.
• Ask our associates for the most direct driving directions when preparing to travel to attractions.
• Instead of carrying cash, use a credit card or traveler’s check when making large purchases. Do not draw attention to yourself by displaying large amounts of cash or expensive jewelry.
• If you see any activity that appears suspicious, please dial Ext. 0 and/or report it to Security and Resort Management.
• Pay attention to when and where you are walking or parking. Be aware of your surroundings.

Fire Safety

• Upon arrival please locate your fire extinguisher. It can be found beneath the kitchen counter.
• Locate the fire alarm and all exits (inside and outside your villa). Make sure everyone in your group knows those locations.
• Familiarize yourself and your group with the resort fire evacuation plan and agree on a meeting place where you can account for everyone in your group. The back parking deck is recommended.
• Ensure that all Key Card holders keep their cards with them at all times.
• To operate the fire extinguisher, pull the pin and squeeze the handle. Spray back and forth in a sweeping motion at the base of the fire.
• First call: The fire department (9 + 911, or 911 on your cellphone).
• Second call: Guest Service desk, Ext. 0. Identify yourself, your location and briefly describe the situation.
• If you are in a public area, calmly leave through the nearest exit.
• If you are inside your villa, touch the villa door. If it is hot, DO NOT OPEN IT. If the door is cool, brace your shoulder against the door and open it slowly. Be prepared to close it quickly if flames or smoke are on the other side.
• If you are able to leave your villa, remind everyone of the agreed upon meeting place, take your key, close the door behind you and sound the nearest alarm.
• Use the nearest stairwell or fire exit. DO NOT TAKE THE ELEVATOR.
• Crawl or keep low to reduce exposure to odorless carbon monoxide.

If you can not leave your room please follow these steps:

• If neither landlines nor cell service is available, signal to those outside your room that you are inside by hanging a sheet from your balcony handrail.
• Turn off the air-conditioner.
• Place wet sheets around the doorjamb. Block any vents that are emitting smoke.
• Open the windows ONLY if you are certain you are letting in fresh air.
• If the walls are hot, splash them with water. Use your ice bucket to cool them.
• If there is smoke in your villa, stay as low as possible and keep your nose and mouth covered with a wet cloth.
• DO NOT JUMP unless instructed by fire safety officials prepared to catch you. Otherwise continue the actions prescribed above and signal from your window for help.
