Activity Guide

ALL crafts and activities will have a time slot, so please make a reservation at bookwhen.com/shenandoahcrossings.

Air Thermostat
Press heat or cool button on A/C control to activate. During cooling season, please do not set the a/c units below 70 degrees. The a/c unit will freeze and automatically shut down. During heating season, a temperature of 68 degrees is recommended.

Alarm Clock
To set the alarm, press/hold down the large button on the top of the device to set the desired time.

Blender – On demand – request via text at:  540-232-9960
Set blender container into base, place liquid or soft ingredients into blender and place the lid on securely. Press the desired settings on the panel to start. Do not overfill.

Coffee Maker
Press On/Off switch. Remove filter/coffee combination packet from plastic, place in filter basket, fill reservoir with water and turn on machine. One in room packet make four (4) cups of coffee.

Clothes Dryer (3-bedroom cabin units)
The dryer is located above the washer. Open door and load dryer with clothes (do not overload). Select desired settings and press the start button to begin. Clean the lint trap after each use (lint collector is located in the interior of the dryer towards the back or in some models at the bottom opening of the dryer).

Clothes Washer (3-bedroom cabin units)
The washing machine is located below the dryer. Washer will not start any cycle with lid open. Lift lid and load machine with clothes (do not overload). Pour in desired amount of laundry detergent (detergent provided in unit is enough for one load). Set load size and desired wash/rinse temperatures. Push in knob and scroll to desired settings and pull to start to wash. Close lid to operate.

Dishwasher
Open dishwasher: fill main detergent cup located on the inside of the door with dishwashing powder close (do not use liquid dish detergent, as this will cause the machine to overflow). Close door and turn button to desired wash cycle. Slide the lever to start the dishwasher.

DVD Player
Power player on. Press Open/Close to open. Insert DVD and press Open/Close. Flat-panel television – press “Input” remote and select “AV1”. Traditional television – select channel 2 and then “channel down” one position. Press play on DVD player.

Garbage Disposal
The disposal is located in the kitchen sink. While water is running, and after ensuring that hands and all other objects are clear of the disposal, flip the switch on the wall. Do not put your fingers into drain/disposal. Do not put metal, glass, bones, tobacco, eggshells or greasy items into disposal. Please keep children away from the disposal at all times.

Fire Extinguisher
Locate the fire extinguisher. Pull the pin and squeeze handle. Spray back and forth in a sweeping motion at the base of the fire. CALL 911!

Hairdryer
Remove hair dryer unit from the bag. Move the switch to the ON position 1 (Low) or 2 (High). Return hair dryer to wall mount when finished.

Ice Maker
To turn on icemaker, lower the metal bar located above the icemaker basket. To stop making ice, raise the metal bar to an upright position.

Iron
While unplugged, fill the iron with water (look for an opening at the front of the iron and be careful not to over fill). Plug in and turn the knob to the desired temperature. Use caution when using hot iron. Please use ironing board for all ironing. Do not iron on beds, tables or floors as damage to these items may occur.

Microwave
Open microwave door and place food inside on the glass plate (do not place cups of water, foil, metal or plastic inside microwave). Select microwave power to 1 (Lowest) – 11 (Highest), enter desired time and press start. For automatic time, press cook-time, press hour button up/down, and press start time up/down.

Mixer – on demand item
With the mixer unplugged, insert the beaters. Plug into the wall and place beaters into bowl. Turn the mixer on to the desired speed. Keep fingers and other objects clear of beaters while mixer is activated. Turn off mixer before removing from bowl to prevent contents from splattering.

Oven
Open oven door and place food inside on middle rack (do not place paper products or plastic inside oven). Turn oven knob to desired temperature.

Telephone
Lift handset to place or receive a call. Dialing instructions are on the telephone or see “Telephone Instructions” section in this In Room Directory.

Television
Press the On/Off button on the television or select TV button and press the on/off button on remote. Press the channel up or down button on the TV or select channel number or channel up/down on the remote to change channels.

Toaster
Place toast or bagel into slots. Set desired cooking level and push down lever. Toast will automatically popup when ready, use caution when retrieving toasted food from the toaster. Do not put fingers or metal objects in toaster while toaster is plugged in. Do not put any food in toaster not designed to be toasted.

One of our top goals during your stay is your safety and that of your loved ones. Should the unfortunate incident of a missing child occur, we would like you to be aware of the proper steps to take. The quicker you act, the better the chances of a faster recovery of your child.

Code Adam
Several years ago, associates in a Wal-Mart store developed a procedure to help find children who had wandered away from their parents and reported missing or lost inside their retail stores. The program was named Code Adam in memory of a young child, Adam Walsh, who in 1981 was abducted from a Sears department store in Florida. Adam’s father, John Walsh, is a co-founder of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and host of the television show “America’s Most Wanted.”

Today, Code Adam is a nationally recognized program that provides an effective and structured approach to quickly identify, report, and locate, missing children. Participating businesses include thousands of department stores, retail shops, shopping malls, supermarkets, amusement parks, museums, and resorts throughout the United States. Bluegreen is proud to be a part of this effective and worthwhile program.

Your Course of Action
If you believe that your child is missing, do not panic, but do take action immediately. Search the area, checking wherever a child may crawl or hide. Children think hiding is a game and hiding places are limitless in the mind of a child.

If you still cannot find your child after a thorough search, call Guest Services by dialing Ext. 0 and report the child missing. You will be asked to provide the following information:

• Your name, unit number, and cell phone number
  Child’s name, sex, race, age, hair color, eye color
  Child’s approximate height and weight
  Location where was the child last seen
  What the child was wearing (type of clothing, color, shoes, etc.)

Be prepared to report to the Guest Services desk to provide additional information if needed.

Guest Services has been trained and instructed to immediately announce a “Code Adam” to all resort departments and staff as soon as they receive the report of a missing child. They will provide responding staff with all of the information provided, at which time, all associates will stop what they are doing and participate in the search efforts.

If the child is not found within 10 minutes of initiating the Code Adam, Guest Services will contact local law enforcement and request their response and assistance.

We hope such a situation will never occur, however we would like you to know what the appropriate steps are, and that the Shenandoah Crossing staff are trained and ready to assist.

~Cancellation and modifications can be made, as availability allows, without penalty up to 24 hours in advance.
~Cancellation with in 24 hours of the activity date and time, will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the itinerary total. No refunds will be given for no show tickets.

Fire Safety

While it is unlikely that a fire will occur within the resort, we feel it is still very important for you and your family to be mindful of what precautions to take should an emergency arise. Plan your escape!

Upon Arrival

• If you have questions or concerns, contact Guest Services at extension # 0 or the Security Guardhouse at extension # 7500.
• Become familiar with the location(s) of your nearest fire alarm pull stations, extinguishers, and evacuation exits, both inside and outside of your guest unit.
• Familiarize yourself with the emergency evacuation route map located on the back of your guest room door.
• Keep your guest room key card on hand and readily accessible at all times.

In Case of Fire

• Remain calm. First contact 9-1-1 to notify the fire department, there after notify resort Guest Services at extension # 0. Provide your name and the location of the fire, along with a brief description of the situation.
  During an evacuation, touch all doors first to check for heat before opening. IF IT IS HOT, DO NOT OPEN IT.
• If the door is cool, brace your shoulder against the door and open it slowly. Be prepared to quickly close it if there are flames or smoke on the other side.
• If you are able to leave your unit, take your room key, close the door behind you, and sound the nearest pull station alarm to warn others. Pre-plan a meeting location with your family members in the event that you are separated.
• Make your way to the nearest emergency exit or stairwell and follow the exit signs to exit the building.
• Do not use the elevators during a fire evacuation.
• If smoke is present, crawl or keep low to reduce exposure and inhalation of smoke or odorless carbon monoxide.
• If you are unable to leave your guest room, make every effort to notify someone that you /your family are still
  inside.
• If standard means of communications to 9-1-1 or the resort are not available, signal to them by hanging a sheet
  from your window.
• Turn off the air conditioner to limit airflow and fill the bathtub with water. Place wet sheets and towels around
  the door jam and block any vents that are emitting smoke.
• If walls are hot, bail them with water, using your ice bucket to moisten and cool them.
• If there is smoke in your unit, stay as low to the floor as possible and keep a wet cloth over your nose and mouth.
• Unless prompted to by the Fire Department …Do not jump. A fall from any significant height can cause serious
  injury; rather, continue to protect yourself from the fire and signal from your window for help.
• If you are in a public area when a fire starts, calmly leave through the nearest fire exit.
• Once safely out of the building, follow resort staff directions to the closest evacuation staging area and remain
  there for further instructions.

RENTAL GOLF CART RULES & REGULATIONS

Welcome to Shenandoah Crossing Resort. For your personal safety and for the safety of all resort guest, we respectfully ask you to follow these rules for operating Golf Carts while at Shenandoah Crossing Resort:

All Golf Carts must be registered and are required to have a current Shenandoah Resort Golf Cart Hang Tag displayed at all times. Regarding rental golf carts, a tag will be provided by the rental staff (Activities Department).

A Credit Card must be listed on file to rent a Golf Cart.

● ONLY GUESTS WITH A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE & 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OVER ARE PERMITTED TO OPERATE THE GOLF CARTS WHILE ON PROPERTY.

*License ID must be carried at all times while operating the Golf Cart.*
● Resort speed limit is 15 mph. Golf Carts must obey all posted road signs and restricted areas. Pedestrians and Horses have the right of way.
● Rental Golf Carts are NOT to leave Shenandoah Crossing Property for any reason.
● Please Park Rental Golf Carts in a safe place overnight. You have been provided with a security device to lock the Golf Cart and prevent theft. Please ensure its use when left unattended.
● Please take the key out when it is not in use. A $20.00 charge will apply for a missing key that is not returned to the rental staff (Recreation Activities Department).
● Operation of Golf Carts is restricted to use on paved vehicular roads only and is not permitted on grass or any other paved or unpaved surface. Operation of Golf Carts across the dam into the private residential neighborhood of Shenandoah Country Club is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Guests must adhere to ALL No Trespassing, Private Property, and other posted signage.
● Golf Carts must have at least one operational headlight when driving at night and must have operational rear taillight(s) and/or red reflectors/slow moving sign.
● Golf Carts may NOT carry more than FOUR passengers for which they were designed.

● Golf Carts must be parked in a manner which does not interfere with vehicles or pedestrian traffic.
● Golf Carts shall not be operated at any time between 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. (Except for on-duty staff and/or Security personnel) Golf Cart operators must adhere to established quiet hours.
● Golf Carts MUST be RETURNED (RAIN OR SHINE) BY 9:00 AM on the day of your return. If rental staff is not available at the time of return, you may park and lock the Golf Cart and leave keys in Drop Box located at the pick-up location Cart Return Site.
● Violations of ANY Rules & Regulations will void your rental agreement, and the Golf Cart will be returned to the resort without compensation or refund for the remaining rental period.

OPEN DISPLAY OR USE OF ALCOHOL ON GOLF CARTS IS NOT ALLOWED!

Shenandoah Crossing Resort reserves the right to change any or all rates and rules at any time at its discretion.

Pavilion Pool
For a splashing good time, visit our large pool and recreation area located near the Pavilion. Complete with expansive main pool, an Activity Pool, two hot tubs and an interactive Slash Pad, this is fun for all ages.

In the Pavilion you’ll find the General Store, Pop’s Deli and Freedom Hall where movies and other special events are held. On the lower level you will find the Activities Center where there are plenty of arts and crafts, movie rentals, and games for the whole family to enjoy. Make sure to review your activity guide, received during check-in, to see what activities are available during your stay.

Amphitheater
Guest storytellers, lectures, sing-a-longs and many other activities take place in the Liberty Amphitheater. These activities are based on seasonality, so please check your public notice for the most up-to-date schedule.

Don’t forget to head down to the Equestrian Center where you can schedule a trail ride, carriage rides and other activities. Our picturesque network of bridle trails is the perfect way to enjoy the wilderness around the resort. Our seasoned trail horses take you into the woods and across the historic fields. Our Equestrian Center, home to over two dozen horses, is a featured attraction for all to enjoy.

Marina 
Seasonal hours. Boat and fishing pole rentals.

Marina Trail
Parking is located at the head of the trail that leads to the Marina.  Only golf carts can drive direct to the Marina.  Please be mindful of horses and egress if passing is necessary.

Putt Putt Hut
Test for your mini golf skills at our complimentary wilderness course, complimentary sports equipment including mini golf clubs, tennis, horseshoes, basketballs and volleyballs are available.

Safety & Security

Welcome to your home away from home. Vacation is a time for fun and relaxation; however, just like at your home, safety and security begins with you. It is our goal that your time spent with us is enjoyable, which also means feeling safe and secure. Here are a few safety tips recommended for you to follow:

Inside Your Room

• Keep the dead bolt and secondary safety latch locked when inside your room.
• Do not allow strangers into your room. If someone’s identity seems suspicious, dial 0 and report them to Guest Services.
• To contact the Security Guardhouse, dial # 9300 from your unit phone.
• For law enforcement or medical emergencies press the red “Emergency” button on your guest room for 9-1-1.
• Never leave your children unattended. Familiarize them with their new surroundings and other safety procedures.
• Make sure to lock your vehicle and take all valuable items inside with you and/or store them in your trunk out of sight.

Keys Cards

• Keep track of your key card by keeping it with you at all times. Do not give it to others.
• Report lost room keys to Guest Services so that new keys can be issued.
• Return your key cards to Guest Services upon check out.

On and Off the Property

• Never leave your wallet, keys, purse, or other valuables unattended.
• Ask our staff for the most direct driving directions when preparing to travel to attractions.

Visitors

Please contact the Security Guardhouse at Ext. 7500 to advise of any outside guests & visitors. This ensures that they are placed on the guest list for authorized entry and provided with a map or parking pass if needed upon arrival.

Shenandoah Crossing features state-of-the-art RV sites with furnished patios and summer kitchens; some even offer personal hot tubs and stainless-steel barbecue grills.

RV site reservations at Shenandoah Crossing may be scheduled using Points or Bonus Time for owners who wish to travel in their personal RV. These sites must be reserved by contacting Vacation Services at (800) 456-2582.  Rental options available:  https://shenandoahcrossingrv.mydirectstay.com 

RV sites have two shower/bathhouses available, and there are washers and dryers available on site at the property. All sites include a concrete pad, RV pedestal hookup, and fire ring.

Available site types are:

• Deluxe RV Site- The site size is 37′ x 70′, with rig space of 15′ x 42′. Back-in access. Sites include a free-standing gas grill and a small patio with a basic dining table and 4 chairs. 50-amp electrical system.
• Elite RV Site- Pull-through access. The site size is 37′ x 70′, with rig space of 15′ x 42′. Sites include a free-standing gas grill, summer kitchen with counter and sink, patio with large dining table, 2 chairs, and 2 benches. 50-amp electrical system.
• Presidential RV Site- Pull-through access. The site size is 37′ x 70′, with rig space of 18’x 42′. Sites include a free-standing gas grill, summer kitchen with counter and sink, patio with large dining table, 2 chairs, and 2 benches. Sites also include a hot tub with two chaise chairs. 100-amp electrical system.

No stand-alone tents are permitted on RV sites; one tent is allowed with an RV.

The maximum number of guests who may occupy a campsite is eight.

At each RV site, the campground allows two household pets weighing less than 50 lbs. each. Pets must be walked in designated areas. They are NOT permitted in any resort buildings. They must be kept on a leash at all times and may not be left unattended. Owners are responsible for the sanitary disposal of pets’ waste.

Grand Resort Cabin
Two bedroom cabins sleep six. These units have two baths, sofa sleeper in the living room, fireplace, two color televisions, DVD player, central air conditioning, ceiling fan, screened porch with gas grill, dish washer, and refrigerator with ice maker, garbage disposal and microwave oven.

Deluxe Resort Cabin

These luxurious cabins offer stylish furnishings, 5 beds with plush linens, a pull out sofa, flat-screen TVs, elegant bathrooms, and fully equipped kitchens, all with central heat and air. You’ll also enjoy a large wooden deck with a gas grill. These cabins sleep 8.

Lodge
Our lodge hotel accommodates travelers with single or double queen bedded rooms. The amenities at the lodge include Mac’s Kitchen, meeting rooms, outdoor pools, fitness room and activity room.

Manor House
Circa 1742. This is a gracious colonial manor, with early American charm and comfort, overlooking beautiful Lake Izac. The home has five bedrooms and three baths with kitchen, dining room, living room, study, and recreation room.

Yurts
The glamorous yurts offer stylish furnishings including four-poster beds with plush linens, flat-screen TVs, elegant bathrooms, and fully equipped kitchens, all with central heat and air. You’ll also enjoy a large wooden deck with a summer kitchen.

RV Area
The RV area has all weather sites with water, electric and sewer hook-up. “Drive through” sites are available. Each site has a fire ring, grill and picnic table. Wilderness Campground
The Wilderness area has campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. Showers are available in the bathhouse.
