Air Thermostat
Press On/Off and press left or right for desired temperature. Make sure the unit is in cool position/ heat position, whichever you desire (68º F – 72º F is a cool temperature.) Do not turn A/C below 65º F as it may cause the A/C to malfunction and stop working. If any door is ajar, the air conditioner will turn off automatically.

Digital Thermostat
Press Mode Button to Heat or Cool, Press Fan Button to OFF, Press arrow buttons up or down to desired temperature; takes up to 3 minutes for unit to turn on. *Must be on AUTO not FAN

Alarm Clock/Docking Station
Alarm Clock/Docking station.allows you to set two alarms at once.  Before setting make sure that the audio function has been turned off through the FM radio or sound flow by pressing the “OFF” button.  Press and hold and set Al1 to set Alarm 1.  Then press clock turning directional button to set alarm time.  To confirm this alarm time press Set Al1. To set Alarm 2 follow these same steps selecting Al2 for the second alarm.

Blender
Set blender container into base, place liquid or soft ingredients into blender and place the lid on securely. Press the desired settings on the panel to start. Never Place boiling or extremely hot ingredients into a blender as they may explode.

Coffee Maker
Read instruction on back of coffee package

Clothes Dryer
The dryer is located on the top of the Washer in most units(Note: some machines may be located in the guest bathroom). Open door and load dryer with clothes (Do not overload). Set the dryer and press the start button to begin. Clean the lint trap after each use (Lint collector is located on the inside back wall of the dryer or in front bottom when you open door) Note: In handicap units appliances are separate.

Clothes Washer
The washing machine is located below the dryer. Lift lid and load machine with clothes (Do not overload). Pour the desired amount of detergent (1 small box of detergent per load). Set load size and then set desired wash/rinse temperatures. Push in knob and scroll to desired settings and pull to start to wash.
Note: In handicap units appliances are separate.

Dishwasher: Open door
Open dishwasher; fill main detergent cup located on the side of the front door with dishwashing powder and slide closed. Close front door and turn button to desired wash. Slide the lever to start the dishwasher. Do not use liquid soap, as this will cause the dishwasher to overflow.

Garbage Disposal
The disposal is located in the kitchen sink. Run the water and turn switch on the wall. Do not put your fingers into drain/disposal to clear a blockage. Please call maintenance by dialing “0”. Do not put metal, glass, bones, tobacco, eggshells or greasy items into disposal.

Electric Can Opener
Lift handle on opener and place canned food onto sharp edge. Press the lever down to start.

Fire Extinguisher
Locate the fire extinguisher underneath the sink in the kitchen. Pull the pin and squeeze handle. Spray back and front in a sweeping motion at the base of the fire. CALL 911 (dial 9911)

Hairdryer
Hairdryer is located under restroom sinks. “On” “Off” switch is on the handle.
Press the switch to the ON position High  or Low.

Guest Bath Shower
Turn on water and set to desired temperature. Pull the lever up on the water spout

Ice Maker
To make ice, lower the handle. Additionally, ice machines are also available on the 1st and 3rd floors of Shore Crest I & P2 and 1st floor at Shore Crest II.

IPod/MP3 Docking Station
Press the power and set to desired settings.

Iron
Fill the iron with water and turn the knob to the desired temperature. Use the ironing board for all ironing. Do not iron on beds, tables or floors.

Microwave
Open the door and place food inside on the glass plate (Do not place cups of water, foil, metal or plastic inside microwave.) Set Micro 1-11 and enter desired minutes and press start. For automatic time, press cook-time, press hour button up/down, and press start time up/down.

Oven
Open oven door and place food inside on middle rack. (Do not place paper products or plastic inside oven.) Turn knobs to set desired temperature and press start. For timed cook, press cook time, press hour button up/down, and press start time up/down.

Telephone
Pick up telephone to place or receive a call. See dialing instructions on the telephone or in this “In Room Directory”.

Television
Press the power ON the television or remote. Press the channel up or down.

Toaster
Place toast or bagel into slots. Set to desired temp. and push down lever. Toast will automatically pop up when ready.

While a fire at our resort is unlikely, we feel it is still very important for you and your family to be mindful of what precautions to take should an emergency arise. Plan your escape!

Upon Arrival

• If you have questions or concerns, contact the Resort Front Desk or Manager on Duty.
• Be aware of where the fire alarm, extinguisher and exits are located inside and outside of your villa. Familiarize yourself with the resort fire evacuation plan that is located on the inside of your entrance door.
• Make sure you know how to turn off your air conditioner.
• Keep your villa key card on hand at all times.
• Fire Extinguisher located under kitchen sink.

In Case of Fire

• Remain calm. First notify the fire department (911) and then notify the Resort Front Desk or Manager on Duty. Identify your name and location, with a brief description of the situation.
• Touch your villa door. IF IT IS HOT, DO NOT OPEN IT.
• If the door is cool, brace your shoulder against the door and open it slowly. Be prepared to quickly close it if there are flames or smoke on the other side.
• If you are able to leave your villa, take your key, close the door behind you and sound the nearest alarm. Predetermine a meeting place so you will know all of your family is safe.
• Do not take the elevator. Use the nearest stairwell or a fire exit.
• Crawl or keep low to reduce exposure to smoke or odorless carbon monoxide.
• If you stay in your villa, make every effort to notify someone that you/your family are inside. If normal communication to 911 or the resort is not available, signal to them by hanging a sheet from your balcony. Turn off the air conditioner and fill the bathtub with water. Place wet sheets and towels around the door jam. Block any vents that are emitting smoke. Only open the sliding glass doors if you are sure you are letting in fresh air. If walls are hot, bail them with water, using your ice bucket to cool them.
• If there is smoke in your villa, stay as low as possible and keep a wet cloth over your nose and mouth.
• Do not jump. A fall from all the upper floors can cause serious injury; Rather, continue to protect yourself from the fire and signal from your window for help.
• If you are in a public area when a fire starts, calmly leave through the nearest fire exit or stairwell.

Complimentary internet access is available in the owner’s lounge of Shore Crest 1. Usage is on a first-come, first-serve basis and for 20-minute intervals. An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 16.

Wireless Internet
Wireless Internet services are provided courtesy of Blueprint. Wi-Fi is a complimentary amenity for our owners and guests up to 10 Meg per villa.  Please stop by the Front Desk to receive your Wi-Fi instructions if you are unable to connect to our welcome page. Turn your Wi-Fi enabled device on and launch your Web browser. You should see the Bluegreen Vacations Welcome Home Page. Quiet Hours
Please respect your neighbors and keep noise to minimum. Quiet hours are to be observed between 10:30 pm-7:00am. Failure to comply is subject to immediate eviction.

Our Housekeeping Department takes great pride in the quality of their work in your villa. We are dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, please call us directly at extension 1100, so that we may correct any deficiencies.

Key Card

Parking on site is available at no charge. One parking pass issued per room. The Shore Crest I parking garage occupies the first 2 floors of the building and the Shore Crest II parking garage occupies the first 3 floors of the building. There are 4 overflow lots north of and behind Shore Crest II. Parking for boats, trailers, jet skis, or RV/motor homes NOT permitted. Please be aware that a car show in the month of March and multiple motorcycle festivals in the months of May, September and October can present parking issues and additional traffic congestion. Please call resort ahead of arrival for details on parking arrangements. In addition, the resort may have contact information for offsite facilities available for boat, trailer, or motorcycle parking.

For those who prefer to spend their leisure time indulging in our resort recreational facilities, our Activities Staff can assist you. The activities program was designed for young and not so young alike! We are pleased to have you with us and hope that you join us in many of the activities we have planned for you and your family. For your convenience, Housekeeping has provided pool towels in all guest units. If needed; towels can be exchanged at the Linen Exchange outside the Shore Crest II Lobby Level, daily. Inside Your Villa

• Keep the dead bolt locked when inside your villa.
• Do not allow strangers into your villa. If someone’s identity seems suspicious, dial 0 and/or report them to the Resort Front Desk or Manager on Duty.
• Never leave your children unattended. Familiarize them with their new surroundings and other safety procedures.
• Make sure to lock your vehicle and take all valuable items inside with you and/or store them in your trunk out of sight.

Keys

• Keep track of your key by keeping it with you at all times. Do not give it to others.
• Never write your room number on the key card.
• Return your key to the front desk at your check out time.

On and Off the Property

• Never leave your wallet, keys or purse unattended while at the pool.
• Ask our staff for the most direct driving directions when preparing to travel to attractions.
• Instead of carrying cash, use a credit card or traveler’s check when making large purchases. Do not draw attention to yourself by displaying large amounts of cash or expensive jewelry.
• If you see any activity that appears suspicious, please dial 0 and/or report it to management.

Through the Swim Safe program, local communities offer 10 safety tips for ocean swimmers:

• Swim in areas with a lifeguard
• Swim with a buddy
• Swim sober
• Don’t fight the current (signal for help!)
• Don’t float where you can’t swim
• Watch small children closely
• Don’t dive into the surf (protect your neck!)
• Leash your boogie board or surfboard
• Ask a lifeguard about ocean water conditions
• Look for, read, and obey all beach safety flags (yellow, lifeguard on duty; blue, aquatic danger; red, no swimming allowed)

Sun Protection
Don’t let sunburn spoil your vacation.

• Use sunscreen with a high SPF, and apply 30 minutes before exposure to the sun, then reapply after swimming, physical activity, or prolonged time in the sun.
• Wear a hat and swimsuit cover-up (or T-shirt) for added protection.
• Avoid the midday sun.
• Don’t fall asleep while sunbathing.
• Beware of cloudy days, because burning rays penetrate clouds.
• Severe sunburns should be treated by a physician and may require special medication to reduce pain and swelling (if in doubt, consult a physician or hospital emergency department).

Lifeguards
Lifeguards are on duty along many Grand Strand beaches during the summer months. Inexperienced swimmers or families with children should make sure the beach area they visit is staffed by a lifeguard. Other pointers: don’t swim alone; if you encounter a riptide (a strong current that can pull you away from shore), yell for help, and begin swimming parallel to the beach until you are free from the current’s pull. Do not try to swim directly against current.

Jellyfish Stings
Most vacationers never experience a jellyfish sting, but if you or someone in your group is stung, follow these instructions: immediately scoop up some sand and rub it on the sting underwater to wash away any remaining nettles; then apply plain meat tenderizer, vinegar, or alcohol to neutralize most of the toxins; finally, wash the area with soap and fresh water. If the sting is severe, consult a physician or hospital emergency department. If there is an allergic reaction, call 911 immediately.

Beach-Going Wheelchairs
In Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Surfside Beach, beach-going wheelchairs are available for use free of charge. These chairs are sturdy and come equipped with large balloon tires for maneuvering through soft sand.

In North Myrtle Beach, wheelchairs are available Monday through Friday on a first come first serve basis at the Recreation Center on Possum Trot Road. Call 280-5584 to reserve one.

Air Conditioner
See “appliance instructions” for details on how to operate. Do not set the temperature below 65 degrees F (20 degrees C), as it will freeze the A/C unit. Balcony doors must be closed.
Note: The balcony door must be closed for proper operation of the A/C system.

Complimentary safes are available in each guest unit for your convenience.

Cable TV 
For your convenience, there is a channel guide programmed into your TV service. Press “GUIDE” to access the channel guide.

Wireless Internet
Wireless Internet services are provided courtesy of Blueprint. Wi-Fi is a complimentary amenity for our owners and guests up to 10 Meg per villa.  Please stop by the Front Desk to receive your Wi-Fi instructions if you are unable to connect to our welcome page. Turn your Wi-Fi enabled computer on and launch your Web browser. You should see the Bluegreen Vacations Welcome Home Page.
